FAQ

WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?

I currently provide daycare and group walks on the Isle of Dogs, Wood Wharf and Canary Wharf, including collection and drop-off.

DO YOU ACCEPT AD HOC BOOKINGS?

No. I work exclusively with regular clients on fixed weekly days. This creates familiar, consistent groups and allows the dogs to get to know me and each other.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR OUTDOOR DOGGY DAYCARE?

Dogs must be fully vaccinated, including kennel cough, and complete a complimentary meet & greet before joining.

Dogs are carefully matched based on their temperament, size, play style and suitability for a group environment.

Male dogs aged 9 months and over must be neutered. Younger intact males may be accepted provided they do not display behaviours such as persistent mounting or indoor marking.

Females in season cannot attend daycare or group walks. Spaying requirements can be discussed individually.

WHY DON’T YOU ACCEPT INTACT DOGS?

To maintain stable and compatible groups, I do not accept intact males or unspayed females.

Hormonal changes can affect social dynamics and interactions between dogs, particularly in a group setting. This policy helps me keep the daycare and walking groups consistent, safe and comfortable for everyone.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes. Wag & Whisk is fully insured for professional dog care services. Proof of insurance is available upon request.

Is WAG & WHISK Open On The BANK Holidays?

Yes. Wag & Whisk operates year-round, including bank holidays, subject to availability.

HOW MANY DOGS ARE IN EACH GROUP?

Daycare groups are kept small and carefully matched. Group walks have a maximum of four dogs, so I can give each dog plenty of attention.

DO YOU OFFER COLLECTION & DROP-OFF?

Yes. Collection and drop-off are included for daycare and group walks within the Isle of Dogs and Wood Wharf.

DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE GOOD OFF-LEAD?

Not necessarily. Whether a dog can be safely let off lead is assessed individually and discussed with the owner. Dogs that need to remain on lead can still enjoy their walks and daycare outings.

DO YOU ACCEPT DOGS WITH BEHAVIOURAL ISSUES?

Every dog is considered individually. Some behavioural needs can be accommodated, but dogs must be comfortable and safe within a small group environment. Suitability is assessed during the meet & greet.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU’RE SICK OR UNABLE TO PROVIDE CARE?

If I’m unexpectedly unwell or unable to provide daycare or walks, I’ll let you know as soon as possible. Where possible, I may be able to recommend or arrange cover with a trusted dog walker.

HOW DOES BOARDING WORK?

Boarding is available exclusively to regular daycare and walking clients. This means dogs already know me, my home and usually the other dogs in my care, helping make overnight stays more familiar and comfortable.

ARE YOU AVAILABLE AT SHORT NOTICE?

Additional daycare days, walks or boarding may be available for existing regular clients, subject to availability. I recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for boarding.

WHEN CAN I CANCEL A BOOKING WITHOUT BEING CHARGED?

Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled service will not be charged. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged at the full service rate.

HOW DO YOU TRANSPORT THE DOGS?

I cover a small local area, so all collections and drop-offs are done on foot. This also gives the dogs extra exercise and outdoor time as part of their day.

DO I HAVE TO BE HOME FOR COLLECTION & DROP-OFF?

No. Many clients provide a key or access instructions, so I can collect and return their dog even when they’re not home. I’m DBS-checked for added peace of mind.

WHAT DO DOGS DO DURING DAYCARE?

Dogs enjoy 3–5 hours of outdoor activity throughout the day, including walks, off-lead play, exploring, sniffing and enrichment, with time to relax and rest at home between outings.

For recent photos, videos and Stories, you can see what the dogs get up to on Instagram at @wag_and_whisk.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN IT RAINS?

We get wet! Walks and daycare continue in most weather conditions. On rainy days, dogs are dried off as much as possible before being returned home.

DO YOU GIVE DOGS TREATS?

Yes, but only with the owner’s consent. I use natural, grain-free baked treats during walks, daycare and training.
